So, You’ve Booked Me as Your Celebrant - What Happens Next?

Yay! You’ve locked me in as your Celebrant (excellent choice, by the way), and now you’re probably wondering what happens between now and that magical “I do” moment.
Let’s walk through it, step by step.

Step 1: Booking & Our First Chat

Once you’ve booked me, we’ll tee up a time to chat — in person, over the phone, or on a video call (whatever works best for you).

This first catch-up is where we get to know each other and start dreaming up your ceremony. We’ll talk about your vision, what kind of vibe you’re going for (fun and lighthearted? romantic and tear-jerky?), and I’ll also guide you through all the legal bits so you know exactly what’s what.

Bring your questions, your ideas, and maybe a coffee (or wine — no judgment). I’ll handle the rest.

Step 2: Lodging the NOIM (The Legal Bit)

At least one month before your wedding day, we’ll need to lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage — or NOIM, for short. It’s the official paperwork that lets me legally marry you.

I’ll walk you through it step by step, explain what documents you need, and make sure everything’s filled out perfectly. Easy. The sooner we do this, the better — then you can tick it off your list and focus on the fun stuff.

Step 3: Planning Your Ceremony

Here’s where the magic starts!

This part is all about creating a ceremony that feels so you. We’ll chat about your story, your vows, your music, and if you want to sprinkle in any special touches — like a ritual, a reading, or even a cheeky surprise moment.

I’ve got a stack of examples and ideas to help you along the way, but at the end of the day, it’s your ceremony. My job is to make sure it reflects who you are and sets the tone for the rest of your celebration.

Step 4: The Rehearsal (Optional)

If you’d like, we can do a rehearsal before the big day. It’s a great way to calm the nerves and make sure everyone knows where to stand, when to walk, and how to hold the rings without dropping them.

We’ll run through the ceremony so that on the day, you can just breathe, smile, and enjoy every second.

Step 5: The Big Day!

The day has finally arrived — time to get you married!

I’ll arrive nice and early to check the setup, chat with your photographer, musicians, and coordinator, and make sure everyone’s on the same page. Then it’s go time.

You just focus on being present, soaking up the moment, and maybe trying not to ugly-cry (though, honestly, it’s allowed). I’ll handle the rest.

Step 6: After the Ceremony

Once you’re officially hitched and basking in newlywed bliss, I’ll take care of lodging all the legal paperwork with Births, Deaths and Marriages — so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

I’ll also send you details on how to order your registered marriage certificate (that’s the official one you’ll need for name changes and the like).

Step 7: Post-Wedding Follow-Up

Just because the ceremony’s over doesn’t mean we’re done! I love keeping in touch with my couples — hearing about your honeymoon, seeing a few sneak peeks from your photos, or helping out with name change tips.

And if you loved working with me (which I hope you did!), a little Google review means the world. It helps other couples find me, and honestly, it makes my day every single time.

Final Thoughts

Planning a wedding can feel like juggling flaming torches sometimes — but when you’ve got the right people in your corner, it all falls beautifully into place.

So, let’s do this together. From the first chat to the final kiss, I’ve got you covered.
